SEATTLE – After reviewing the current status of the recreational Pacific halibut fisheries off Oregon, the International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and the Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) have agreed to increase the recreational daily bag limit to two (2) Pacific halibut of any length in the Central Coast Summer All-Depth and Nearshore fisheries (Cape Falcon to Humbug Mt.) and in the Southern Oregon Subarea fishery (Humbug Mt. to the Oregon/California border) in IPHC Regulatory Area 2A effective 23 August 2019.
The Oregon Central Coast All-Depth fishery is open every Friday and Saturday until the quota is attained or until 31 October, whichever is earlier. The Oregon Central Coast Nearshore fishery (inside the 40-fathom line) and the Oregon Southern Subarea fishery are open seven (7) days a week until the quota is attained or until 31 October, whichever is earlier. These areas are in IPHC Regulatory Area 2A.
