SEATTLE – Revised dates: Washington Pacific halibut recreational fishery. The Pacific halibut recreational season dates in Washington’s Puget Sound Subarea are revised to 20 May through 30 June on alternating days. The season dates are 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 May and 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29 June or until there is not sufficient quota remaining and the fishery is closed.
This decision was made in coordination with NOAA Fisheries, WDFW, and the IPHC. The season structure was revised from what was originally planned to allow the Pacific halibut fishery to proceed in a manner that is consistent with Washington State guidelines to limit travel, and to meet the management objective of attaining the quota.
