IPHC Media Release 2020-010 Recreational Fishery Openings – Oregon

13 May 2020

SEATTLE –Central Oregon Coast Subarea (ODFW Central Oregon Coast Subarea) spring all-depth Pacific halibut recreational fishery. The spring all-depth Pacific halibut recreational season in Oregon’s Central Coast Subarea will open 21 May 2020.

Once the season begins, it will be open on the following dates which were scheduled based on public input earlier this year: 21-23 May, 28-31 May, 11-13 June, 18-20 June, and 9-11 July. Additional all-depth fishing days may be opened later in the spring or summer, if quota remains.

ODFW is delaying the opener by one week (from 14 to 21 May 2020) to ensure fair and equitable access to Pacific halibut across the entire Central Coast Subarea.
