IPHC REGULATORY AREA 2A – After reviewing the current status of the recreational Pacific halibut fisheries off Oregon, the International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and the Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) have determined that the Central Oregon Coast summer all-depth Pacific halibut fishery can be open an additional day each week, Sunday. Previously the fishery had been only open Friday and Saturday. Fisheries managers have agreed to open the Central Oregon Coast summer all-depth Pacific halibut fishery three days per week, Friday through Sunday, beginning 8 September 2019.
The Pacific halibut daily bag limit for all Oregon areas remains at two (2) Pacific halibut per angler per day.
Beginning 8 September, the Oregon Central Coast All-Depth fishery is open every Friday through Sunday until the quota is attained or until 31 October, whichever is earlier.
Additional information on Pacific halibut fishing opportunities is available at the NOAA Fisheries hotline (1-800-662-9825) and at the ODFW website:
